What is OS-10 Accreditation?
OS-10 accreditation is a legal requirement in Chile to work as a private security guard. This certification guarantees that private security professionals have been properly trained and meet the standards required to perform their duties properly and safely.
Requirements for Obtaining OS-10 Accreditation
To obtain OS-10 accreditation, applicants must meet the following requirements:
1. Be of Legal Age
Applicants must be 18 years of age or older at the time of applying for OS-10 certification.
2. Chilean Nationality or Legal Residence
It is necessary to have Chilean nationality or legal residence in Chile to apply for accreditation.
3. Secondary School Completion Certificate
A certificate proving completion of secondary education is required.
4. Clean Criminal Record
Applicants must submit a criminal record certificate proving the absence of criminal convictions.
5. Health Compatible with the Security Guard Function
A medical certificate must be provided proving that the person is fit to perform the duties of a security guard.
OS-10 Accreditation Process
- Formation: Applicants must complete a private security training course at a training center authorized by Carabineros de Chile.
- Exams: After completing the course, applicants must take theoretical and practical exams before the Carabineros of Chile to demonstrate their knowledge and skills in private security.
- Issuance of Certification: Once the exams have been passed, Carabineros de Chile issues the OS-10 certification, which enables the professional to work as a private security guard in Chile.
Renewal and Validity of Accreditation
The OS-10 certification has a fixed term and must be renewed periodically. Private security professionals must comply with the renewal requirements established by Carabineros de Chile to keep their accreditation up to date.
